I didn't want to sail but I also didn't want to stay on the rolly mooring ball so once again we got up with the sun to face the waves and take advantage fo the favourable winds. Our goal for the day was a 30ish Nautical Mile sail to Gloucester Massachusetts. As we set off the sun came up and the sky was bright and clear for the first time in days. We were down wind again which is not a great point of sail for our boat as we can't point straight down wind but our angle wasn't bad and we made good progress on a single tack. Thankfully the waves were somewhat diminished from the previous day so while still very rolly things were more comfortable. The sail was pretty tiring but also uneventful except for when Jesse spotted a shark swimming by our boat. It was just for a moment, but you could see it's dorcel fin as it swam along seemingly unfazed by the boat. The winds were strong so we made good time and anchored in Gloucester at the edge of a mooring field just before 2pm.
Aria had been wanting ot use the hammock chair so we set that up for her while Jesse worked on tracking down the source of the water in our bilge and I worked on getting us a pump out. As it turns out Gloucester has a pumpout boat. They come out, raft up and do the pump out where you are, so convenient! With that out of the way Jesse continued searching for the source of the water which involved emptying lockers to check the transducers (not leaking thankfully). This created a lot of chaos in our small space. Around dinner time Aria was so hungry that she decided to make dinner rather then wait for me to get around to it. She made us a beautiful and delicious chicken alfredo which I totally meant to take a picture of but ended up scarfing down before I remembered to get the camera.
We got to bed early again to get ready for another long sail. I don't mind the early mornings but I think they are slowly killing Jesse.
