We made a pretty early start and headed out with plans to get all the way to Norfolk today. Not much wind and not much of a great place to sail anyways, so we motored this entire stretch.
It's a lot of bridges through this section but it's pretty easy to time them up and make your way along. One lock as well, but only a 2 small 2 foot drop. Pretty uneventful day, but it is fun coming into Norfolk with all of the industry and tugs and naval vessels.
We had to wait for a train bridge this time which is kind of neat, they only lower them when needed, so it's not too often you see them, and it is pretty funny looking having a sailboat waiting at a train crossing.
We picked up a slip at Tidewater Marina and we'll stay here for 4 nights. We've got some provisioning to do, plans to visit Norfolk, and some parts and things we'd like to order in which we can do while we are here.
