We left anchor around noon in order to catch as much of the current pushing us up the Hudson as we could. It's kind of crazy that we still have the flow of the Hudson reversing based on the tides of the ocean this far inland. But soon we'll past that once we lock through the first lock in Troy.
It was an easy 20NM motor to Troy, and there was lots of room at the free dock with only one other boat there when we arrived. We got tied up, and then also put the dingy back on deck as we'll want it out of the way when we are locking through the locks tomorrow.
Mr. Turtle docked up after us, and then we all went out for a very delicious BBQ meal at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que which was really busy. Popular spot and for good reason.
After a meal we hiked up to the gas station up the road a ways and got a jerry can of diesel to top off our tanks for the next leg of the journey. And with that we got to bed early for an early morning start up the locks and into the Erie Canal.
