boat launch

Finally got the boat launched. We are usually in the water early May, but the ports project took forever and so we were pretty late getting there this year.

A few photos here of our VC Offshore bottom paint. We went with a lanolin based coating for the prop. Pretty barn yard smelly and awfully sticky stuff, we'll see how that holds up.

There is some very slighly blistering showing on the starboard side of the hull in a couple of spots. Not dealing with that this year, but something to note. Our rudder was pretty blisterly when we got the boat, but I took it all down, repaired, and re-barrier coated and it looks great still.

I had some leaking at the prop shaft when we got dunked into the water, but thankfully it was the stuffing box that needed to be tightened a tiny bit. We re-aligned the engine on the hard and I guess that probably moved around the stuffing while I was working on that.

Anyways, after all that fun, we are finally back floating.
