Lock E-20 to Brewerton - day 335

We left pretty early in the morning and got underway. We had a couple of locks to do, the first of the locks going down which was neat.

We had planned a short trip today stopping just before Oneida Lake. However when we got there, the lake was like glass and we talked to Mr Turtle who we were cruising with, and decided to continue on across the lake stopping in Brewerton. This worked out well, the crossing was super easy, and we were able to tie up at the free dock in Brewerton. We also stopped mid way in the lake and went for a swim as it was very warm out. It was so nice to swim again in fresh water. I think this is our first swim since leaving the Bahamas, so it was a nice treat.

The day ended up being a little longer than anticipated, but it was nice to be across the lake. We went out for dinner for Theone's birthday, and Mr Turtle had baked a cake (again!) and so we had a nice little birthday celebration in the park just in front of where we were tied up.

We have some strong winds forecast for tomorrow, so our plan is to sit tight (this spot is particularly well protected for the winds) until the day after. A down day will also be nice as we've been on the move every day for the past week.
