We spent two days at anchor near Marriot Resort, just south of Jensen Beach. It was a nice anchorage to stop and get some rest. Lots of wind the past couple of days and there were probably at least 15 kite surfers out zipping around the bay.
We spent our day there dingy sailing around the bay which was a lot of fun. Winds were up and down as some rain clouds quickly came through the area. I managed to dump the dingy in the bay on a bad jibe while surfing downwind, going to need to practice that a bit more! Bailing the dingy took some work but I made it back to the boat. Aria and I sailed over to a little island called Boy Scout Island and took a look around there. Very beautiful little island, and we saw a very large hermit crab (we think). It's all sand bars around the island and that works great for people learning to kite board. You can fall there, and then just stand up in the 3 or 4 feet of water.
It was a great day on anchor, and a nice change of pace from the provisioning and uncomfortable time we had on the mooring ball the days before.
But onward we go, and so we pulled anchor in the morning and headed out back to the ICW. Long day today, 32NM motor with quite a few bridges. All was well, and it is nice and warm. One bridge was having some issues so we had to idle around for about 20 minutes before they raised it enough for us (and everyone waiting) to make it through.
We stopped at a marina and picked up some diesel to top us off, pumped out, and topped of the water tanks. Nice quick stop and then we found a place to anchor before sunset. We anchored at the far anchorage before the downtown, which doesn't have much shore access and so was largely unpopulated and nice and easy to anchor at.
We have some packages hopefully arriving tomorrow at the UPS store, and if we can pick those up tomorrow we are considering a weather window from here to West End overnight tomorrow night.
