We spent some time in Rock Sound waiting out some weather, and re-provisioning before heading north again. We had quite a little front come through with enough wind to flip our dingy that was trailing behind the boat. Thankfully we had the paddles tied down on deck, so our only loss was my mop up sponge. Flipping it over from the boat was easy, although rather wet in the downpour.
The rest of our time was mostly unexciting, groceries, laundry, groceries, liquor, propane, water, groceries and diesel. We did also go out for a nice dinner at the Wild Orchid once again. And after a few days we are all topped up and ready to go. We waited out one more day of weather and then finally pulled up anchor and sailed out of Rock Sound for the last time.
The weather was calling for super light/no winds, but we were happy to find great full sail winds, and were going along just nice at 5-6 knots for most of the day. A 35NM sail to Rainbow Cay which isn't a very well protected anchorage, but with light winds should be no problem. And it is very beautiful. This will give us a nice jumping off place to go through Current Cut tomorrow and then get ready to cross Providence Channel on our way to the Abacos.
