Manjack Cay to Crab Cay - day 258 and 259

We spent two nights at Manjack Cay on the western tip. The anchorage was nicely protected from the winds we had, but at high tide we did get some ocean swell coming in, and so it was a bit rolly now and again because of that. We ended up re-anchoring after some other boats left to give us a bit more room and so it was a more comfortable sleep the second night.

We got ashore and saw some rays and a small shark (the first non-nurse shark we've seen). Really beautiful beach to hike around and found some nice sea biscuits here, both alive and dead.

The following day we sailed of anchor and used the winds to head further west to an anchorage at Crab Cay. There are a lot of Crab Cays but this one is down around Angle Fish Point on Great Abaco Island. The reason for this anchorage was to wait out some rather strong south westerly winds which this had good protection from. We were also looking for a place without any ocean swell, and this fit the bill.

The sail was a quick downwind and then up around Crab Cay to the anchorage. We had some dolphins swim along with us for a bit while were flying downwind too which was fun. It's a pretty shallow spot at Crab Cay, but we were there at high tide, so we were able to hunt around for a deep enough spot even at low tide for us. We got nicely anchored and happy to be on flat water.
