We woke up with plans to cross through Whale Cay Cut today. This little section of the Abacos is very shallow between Whale Cay and Great Abaco Island, and so the deep route is to go out and around Whale Cay. This means timing the tide to avoid currents, etc. Today was however quite calm and we were able to easily time the passage from where we were coming from.
We sailed off anchor and drifted slowly up to the cut on light winds. We didn't really have enough wind to sail the passage, so we dropped sails and motored around Whale Cay, and then put up sails once we were back in on the other side. Winds were light still but did pick up shortly after and we had a great sail.
We headed down to the west end of Manjack Cay and anchored up close to the beach. Very beautiful area and a few tour boats coming to this beach as well. I think they feed the rays on the beach here. We will check that out tomorrow, as I think we'll stay here a couple of nights.
