Perfect Lefty made us some delicious rye sourdough bread that he made and delivered to us in the morning for breakfast. Super nice of him, and very much appreciated!
Nice easy start to the day, slow morning as we waited for the current to shift around. Got underway around 11am, and continued through the canal and then into Elk River. We had planned on going further, but was we made our way down we found a nice little anchorage at Rouges Harbour that was along the way, and decided to stop there instead.
We were able to dingy ashore here and visit Elk Neck State Park. There were some signs about hunting season so we decided not to venture on a hike and just stopped at the beach there for the day. Aria built a home on the beach, and I rowed back to the boat to pick up the sailing kit for the dingy and did a short bit of sailing around the bay which was nice. I haven't had much of a chance to use the sailing kit yet as we never seem to have enough free time, so it was nice to have the chance finally.
Again it was nice to have a slow day, still recovering a bit from the very long sails through New York and then to here.
