Statue Of Liberty to Dyckman Landing - day 315

We were happy to set out the next day after a rather rolly night behind the Statue Of Liberty. It wasn't horribly rolly, but rolly enough that a single night is enough. It's also much worse during the day as there is a lot more boat traffic.

We raised anchor and headed out to the main channel and put up full sails. The wind was against us, but the current was with us, so it was a fun upwind sail while we got pulled up the Hudson with the current. Only 15 NM but sailing through the city and tacking shore to shore was a lot of fun. Our wind died out just near the end, so we motored the last bit and picked up a mooring ball at Dyckman Landing.

Dyckman Landing is a state run marina and mooring field, and they have reasonable rates on mooring balls (for NYC) at $40/night. We decided to stay for 3 nights to wait out a bit of weather and we aren't in a giant rush as we are still waiting on the Erie Canal to open.
